Omdat deze vraag zo vaak gesteld wordt wijden wij er een blog aan. Zodat iedereen die wilt schilderen zonder strepen een prima houvast heeft om te beginnen! Waarom strepen op plafonds en/of muren ontstaan

Als je weet waarom strepen op plafonds kunnen ontstaan dan weet je waar je op moet letten. Het ontstaan van strepen komt namelijk door het verschil in absorptie van de ondergrond. Daarnaast droogt de verf snel op. Wij willen benadrukken dat het écht van belang is dat je snel werkt. Een pauze nemen tussen het schilderen door kan absoluut niet als je zeker wilt zijn van schilderwerk zonder strepen. Dat betekent ook dat als je een plafond of muur wilt verven, je deze in één keer moet schilderen om strepen te voorkomen. Ook is het belangrijk om systematisch te werken. De verf moet gelijkmatig over de muur of het plafond worden aangebracht om strepen te voorkomen. Ook niet onbelangrijk is de temperatuur. Wanneer het te warm is droogt de verf te snel en wanneer het erg koud is kan de verf langzaam opdrogen.

Samenvattend:

De voorbereiding

Een goede voorbereiding is het halve werk. In dit geval zeker. Want wanneer je strepen hebt in je schilderwerk moet je vaak weer opnieuw beginnen. Zonde van je tijd en materiaal. Dus we starten met een goede voorbereiding.

De volgende dingen heb je nodig om te schilderen zonder strepen:

  • Bekijk goed de huidige staat van de ondergrond
  • Kies op basis van het bovenstaande de juiste soort verf
  • Koop het juiste materiaal (denk ook aan afdekfolie, vooral bij plafonds)
  • Verplaats meubels of dek deze af
  • Afplakken met tape. Denk aan stopcontacten en plinten. Wij raden aan om de stopcontacten te verwijderen voor het schilderen.
  • Ontvetten van de ondergrond
  • De ondergrond indien nodig repareren en egaal maken
  • Kies voor een goede primer als eerste grondlaag.

Als je alle voorbereiding hebt gedaan kan je nu aan de slag met schilderen. Door de juiste techniek toe te passen, kan ook jij verven zonder strepen.

De juiste verf voor schilderen zonder strepen

De kwaliteit van de verf is belangrijk. Verf van goede kwaliteit kan je herkennen aan de mate waarop deze uitvloeit bij het aanbrengen. Dit zie je vooral aan de banen die dan vloeiend in elkaar overlopen. Zie je direct een verschil en is de verfstructuur stug? Hoge kans dat de verf niet het gewenste resultaat zal geven. Ook verf van hoge kwaliteit geeft geen garantie voor een plafond zonder strepen of een muur verven zonder strepen. Maar de kans is vele malen hoger. Combineer dit met het toepassen van de juiste techniek en je hebt mooie egale wanden of een egaal plafond.

Daarbij is het ook belangrijk dat je een verf kiest die geschikt is voor de ondergrond. Verdiep jezelf goed in de verschillende soorten verf met verschillende doeleinden. Het aanbrengen van de verkeerde soort verf kan de kans op strepen aanzienlijk verhogen.

Wanneer een plafond of muur onbehandeld is kan het zijn dan er een primer aangebracht moet worden. Dit zorgt voor een mindering in de zuigingskracht van muren en plafonds. Is een muur of plafond al eens geschilderd? Dan kan het zijn dat je geen primer hoeft te gebruiken.

Tips voor het kiezen van de juiste verf:

  • Heb ik wel of geen primer nodig?
  • Is de verf geschikt voor binnen of buiten? Verf op waterbasis is geschikt voor binnen schilderwerk.
  • Voor welke ondergrond is de verf geschikt?
  • Is het de juiste kleur?
  • Wat is de droogtijd van de verf?
  • Is mijn verf van goede kwaliteit?

Gebruik onze stappenplan om te schilderen zonder strepen:

  1. Start met het schilderen van de randen en hoeken met een kwast. Voor de overige oppervlakte gebruik je een verfroller.
  2. Breng de verfroller tot de helft in de verfemmer. Doe dit langzaam.
  3. Rol met de verfroller een paar keer over de verfbak om het verf gelijkmatig te verdelen over de verfroller.
  4. Zorg voor voldoende verf. Niet te zuinig maar zeker ook niet te veel.
  5. Plaats de verfroller voorzichtig tegen de muur en druk niet te hard tijdens het rollen. Dit is cruciaal voor een plafond zonder strepen of een muur zonder strepen.
  6. Schilder van boven naar onder en daarna van links naar rechts.
  7. Schilder de plafond of de muur in één keer. Zonder te stoppen. Het plafond of de muur droogt dan gelijkmatig op. Nat werken is belangrijk, als de verf te snel droogt kan je een speciaal middel toevoegen aan de verf.
  8. Breng liever twee dunne lagen verf aan dan een dikke verflaag. Dit zal het resultaat mooier maken.

Heb je toch last van strepen?

Dan kan je nog een laag verf aanbrengen. Ook kan het aan de snelheid liggen. Misschien komt dit omdat je niet gewend bent om boven het hoofd te werken. Gelukkig hoef je niet tegen een plafond of muur met strepen aan te kijken. Het inschakelen van een professional is aan te raden als het schilderen zonder strepen niet wil lukken.
